Who we are, and why we do what we do

Let’s Go Camping

No camping gear? No car? No problem. We are a hike-in / hike-out campground just 80 min from NYC via Metro North to the Beacon Train Station. We pick you up at the Beacon Station and bring you to your desired hike. While you hike into the camp enjoying your views, we transport your gear and place it at your camping site for your convenience.

We offer both platform and primitive sites so if you have limited gear, or are a novice camper, you can easily get to the camp and enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of buying and hauling a ton of gear. But if you are a seasoned camper and want the full-wilderness experience (with real bathrooms of course…) we have that too.

Close to Nature

Malouf’s Mountain Sunset Campground is nestled on the foot hills of the Fishkill Ridge. The trails that lead to the campground are owned and operated by the NY-NJ Trail Conference who maintain the trails and trailheads.

You can find Malouf’s Mountain on the NY-NJ trail map, East Hudson Trails, Map 102.

When you reach the campground, you will notice how close to nature it is. You will find your campsite nestled into the mountain terrain and the sites are well spaced for your privacy.

Our History

Nestled on the foot hills of the Fishkill Ridge Malouf’s Mountain Campground was established in 2006. The owner, Dick Malouf, wanted to create a location where everyone could enjoy a hike and a place to stay under the stars.

Dick created primitive sites for the novice camper as well as catered camping for the less experienced.

Through his ideas, he created a great camping experience for everyone.
